Again as with everything else, it's due to the order of the original class.Use Revenant Blade to treat both sides of a double scimitar as two-handed, pouncing for massive damage. I was trying to be generalized because as a DM, if a player wanted to knock someone prone in a creative way (My mind leaves me with a blank right now) I would have a contested roll, thus if the warblade was the one trying to be knocked prone, it would gain advantage on the roll.Īs for the Battle Mastery, I see what you mean, but it's to be there for a wide range of play and to make the character flexible. It's trying to keep the warblade mobile as long as possible and to not be knocked down. But because a warblade can only do it once rather than multiple times, it makes a barbarian still viable.īattle skill, again is just me trying to convert the feature again. For example, I think uncanny dodge for this steps on the toes of barbarian more than it does say, a rogue. I was trying to keep the same spirit of the Warblade without making any other class obsolete. With the idea of a Warblade it was meant to be a better fighter. I have considered changing that to acrobatics. I mentioned to another user that the Dex save was due to how 3rd edition worked with reflex saves. The reasoning for the order of the class features is solely because of how the original class orders them. Yes, it would be more helpful to know the class a bit better. This requires more set up for a lesser reward and it uses the same resource. You almost always take damage during a turn so uncanny dodge is always active. I honestly do not think i would notice if this ability went missing if i was playing a warblade. You seem to have front loaded all the good stuff because 15th level is underwhelming again. The being knocked prone part is a bit vague and i would probably just extend to all effects that would knock you prone. I am not even sure most monster can even try to disarm you. The 10th level feature goes the completely different direction. You have a easy time getting 20 maybe even 21 AC and the second best hit dice. It seems odd to give it to an already tanky class.

7th level time! Uncanny dodge is given to the squishy melee classes to allow them to survive despite their lesser durability. It seems like a flavorful ability for the archetype but place it later in the progression. One being feats and the other is a 15th level feature.

There is only two ways to gain additional save proficiency. Lets get into the stuff i can actually say something about! Proficiency in a save is a pretty powerful thing. There is mention of both maneuvers and stances are some of the maneuvers stances? or are they completely separate? Because you do not mention stances before you gain the ability to use 2. It is hard for me to give complete feedback since i do not know the original class. Possibly comment on something else about the class. Comment on the disciplines, maybe giving me a good idea what would be best. The ideas I have are ĭo a bunch of work and convert all of the maneuvers and stancesĬreate three different categories called: Counter, Strike, and Stance and just take some stuff from all the disciplines.Īny constructive criticism is good. I'm stuck on what to do for the Martial Disciplines.

When you use your bonus action to initiate or change your stance, you can initiate or change one or both stances. Stance Mastery Starting at 18 th level, you can have two stances active simultaneously. Uncanny Dodge Starting at 7 th level, when an attacker that you can see hits you with an attack, you can use your reaction to halve the attack's damage against you.īattle Skill Starting at 10 th level, when an attacker that you can see attempts to knock you prone or disarm you, you gain advantage on your roll against it.īattle Mastery Starting at 15 th level, when you use your reaction to attack, you deal an extra 1d8 damage. You must ready a maneuver before you can use it. The disciplines are Diamond Mind, Iron Heart, Stone Dragon, Tiger Claw, and White Raven. You begin with a knowledge of three maneuvers. Marital disciplines Starting at 3rd level your skills as a fighter have been honed… etc. It's a conversion of the Warblade class in 3.5's "Book of Nine Swords."īonus Proficiencies When you choose this martial archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in Dexterity saving throws. I am currently working on martial archetype for the fighter class.
